How it all started...
FALL 2006
The summer before her senior year of college, God placed Andrea Mefford as a direct care worker in the home of a family with twin boys who have autism. She saw that there were no Christian school options for these boys. God placed a very specific burden on her heart to find a way to provide a Christian education to students of all ability levels. Over the following 15 years, God provided various job and educational opportunities that allowed her the necessary experience to pursue this dream while she waited for Him to open doors.

FALL 2021
God opened the door for Andrea to begin homeschooling her children and offering resource classes to other homeschool families in the community. Over the next two years, these classes grew immensely. The classes moved from Andrea's home to a local recreation center to a church fellowship hall. In 2023, it became clear that in order to continue supporting local families, a school was necessary.

FALL 2023
God abundantly blessed Fearfully and Wonderfully Made. We were established as a private hybrid school, Fearfully and Wonderfully Made Academy, and an official organization, Fearfully and Wonderfully Made by God, Inc. We were able to lease a building near a park which allowed for both indoor and outdoor lessons and activities. We started our first year with 7 full time students, 4 part time students, & 3 co-op families, and by the end of our second year we had doubled our enrollment. We realized that we had outgrown our current building and began searching for a new location.

FALL 2025
In a way that only God could, He connected us with Neuse Baptist Church. We now lease their facility during the week which has allowed us to continue to grow in both students and staff. We are so thankful for the truth of Ephesians 3:20-21. What started as a dream 20 years ago has become a reality, and God has blessed us exceedingly, abundantly above anything we could have imagined.

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Expanding the vision...
We know that just as God has blessed our organization so far, He will continue to do so. Next year, we expect growth in both students and staff. Enrollment for the 2026-2027 is currently open, and we have had so much interest already!
Where we are headed...
While we currently offer counseling to our students, we would love to eventually offer it to others as well.
We also hope to start support groups for families in our community.
Eventually, we would like to be able to offer other services for families in our community who have loved ones with special needs such as ABA therapy, direct care services, family training, etc.
Now that we have larger facilities, we be able to continue growing.

Pray for our Organization
We ask that you join us in praying for our ministry. Pray for our students and their families. Pray for our teachers and staff. Pray that God continues to lead and guide Fearfully and Wonderfully Made in each step of our journey.
Give to our Organization
We are still a new organization and school, and growth often times requires funding. Please pray about what God might lead you to give. Funds would go towards school needs, technology, teacher salaries, student scholarships, curriculum, materials, etc., and you would be a part of helping our organization reach more families in our community who need extra support.
