High School

Our underclassmen classes  include ninth and tenth grades. As with the other classes, this age bracket is somewhat flexible as it is based on academic and developmental level more than actual grade level. Some high school students will be in different class groups for different subjects  based on their current level of learning and understanding.

Subjects and curricula are as follows:
Bible: Not Consumed's Spiritual Disciplines Series Bundle
Math: Saxon Math
Literature: various genre book studies
Grammar and Writing: BJUPress
Computer Literacy: various curricula teaching the use of Google Docs, Microsoft Office 360 Suite, typing, etc.
History: BJUPress paired with  projects and assessments
Science: BJUPress paired with projects and assessments
Health and PE: Not Consumed's Thrive

We also have dual enrollment options for our juniors and seniors.

Math: Saxon Math for most maths, and Ramsey's Classroom for Accounting (required for every senior)
Literature: various genre book studies
Grammar and Writing: BJUPress
History: BJUPress paired with  projects and assessments
Science: BJUPress paired with projects and assessments
Spanish 1 & 2: Breaking the Barrier

Elective Options for Juniors and Seniors:
Digital Media and Communications: various materials teaching app and website management, graphic design, printing projects, marketing projects, proper social media business, newsletters
Teacher Assistant: no curriculum- student will spend one class hour a day assisting in a classroom with a teacher while learning about classroom management, interacting with students, grading, planning, etc.
Yearbook: no curriculum- student will help with taking pictures, creating layouts, typing articles, and other necessary tasks required in yearbook creation

Fearfully and Wonderfully Made offers a dual enrollment option with Lenoir Community College for high school juniors and seniors. These courses are completed online through LCC during the school day, and students earn both high school and college credits for the classes taken. Registration for these courses takes place over the summer, so any students interested in dual enrollment must notify Andrea Mefford at the beginning of summer break.

"Lenoir Community College has options specifically for high school students through its Career and College Promise (CCP) dual-enrollment program, which lets qualified students take college classes while still in high school. CCP courses can lead to certificates, diplomas, degrees, credentials, and job skills through Career & Technical Education (CTE) and College Transfer pathways."
"Eligibility depends on the pathway you choose:
College Transfer Pathway (juniors/seniors): must be a junior or senior and have a 2.8 unweighted GPA or show college readiness with PSAT/SAT/ACT/Pre-ACT scores.
CTE Pathway (juniors/seniors): must be a junior or senior and have a 2.8 unweighted GPA or qualifying PSAT/SAT/ACT/Pre-ACT scores (some pathways may allow a principal recommendation). "
